The reverberatory furnace is a classic metal smelting and heating equipment. Its core design principle lies in that the heat within the furnace does not come directly from fuel combustion in contact with the material. Instead, the heat from flames and high-temperature gases is "reflected" (more accurately, "radiated" and "conducted") onto solid or liquid materials located on the furnace hearth through the refractory materials of the roof and walls. This process achieves the melting, refining, or heat preservation of the materials.
