Information: Detailed Comparison Of Biomass Solid Briquette Fuel (particle) And Coal

Apr 23, 2019

Detailed comparison of biomass solid briquette fuel (particle) and coal.

The combustion performance of biomass solid briquette fuel is similar to that of medium coal, and its comparison with coal has the following characteristics:

(1)The calorific value of biomass pellet fuel and ash content after combustion are about 10% lower than that of coal. However, biomass pellet fuel can be burned out under working conditions, while coal can not be burned out. The residue of cinder is 10%~15% of combustible components. Therefore, the calorific value of the two is equal in practical use.

(2) The ignition property of biomass pellet fuel is better than that of coal, and it is easy to ignite, which greatly shortens the start-up time of firepower.

(3) The solid emission of biomass pellet fuel is lower than that of coal, which reduces the cost of discharging slag and environmental pollution. The solid emission of biomass pellet fuel is all ash, accounting for 0.4%~7.0% of the total weight, while the solid emission of coal combustion is a mixture of ash, alkali and residual coal, accounting for 25%~40% of the total weight.

(4) Coal pollutes the atmosphere and corrodes the boiler much more than biomass pellet fuel. The soot contains a lot of granular C and toxic SO2, CO and other corrosive gases. The main components of biomass pellet fuel are C-H organic matter, and there are no granular C and SO2 gases in the flue gas, mainly C-H volatile gas, whose SO2 and CO emissions are close to zero. The smoke color of biomass pellet fuel is less than Lingman grade 1, which will greatly reduce air pollution and carbon dioxide emissions. Biomass pellet fuel is known as "clean fuel" in the world.

(5) The cost and time of biomass pellet fuel for boiler fuel is less than that of coal. A 0.5T boiler burning biomass pellet fuel is 11% lower than coal burning cost and 34% less time. A 0.5T boiler burning biomass pellet fuel is 10% lower than coal burning cost and 16% less time.

The continuous combustion time of general biomass pellet fuel is 8-10 times longer than that of soft bulk material, and it is in a stable and continuous combustion state.

(6) Comparisons between parameters of biomass pellet fuel-fired boilers and cost-effectiveness of various fuels (taking a 1-ton boiler as an example):

Specific uses:

In biomass solidified briquette fuel, compact (granular) fuel is mainly used as a substitute for coal combustion for district heating (electricity), small industrial boilers, small hot water boilers, gasifiers, industrial cellar furnaces and crop greenhouse heating. It can be used as household heating furnaces and fireplace cooking furnaces.
