What's The Future Of Coal Fired Power?

Jun 05, 2019

How much coal power will there be in the EU in 2019 and what is the future for 2030?

 coal, electricity,

According to data compiled by Sandbag, 21 EU countries have coal-fired power with a total installed capacity of 143 gigawatts. At present, eight EU member states have made a clear commitment to phase out coal during the National Energy and Climate Program (NECP, 2021-2030); two member states will phase out coal, but not explicitly stipulated in NECP; 11 member states have no plans to phase out coal by 2030, some of which have almost no reduction in coal production compared with 2019. By 2030, only 60 gigawatts of coal and electricity will be installed in EU countries, mainly in six member countries: Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece.

As a fuel be used for a long time, coal is to be phased out gradually due to environmental pollution, and biomass fuel is becoming more and more popular.

Greenvinci has rich experience in converting coal/ wood directly fired boiler to biomass fired ones by using biomass gasification burner.
